Obituary

Frederick "Fred" Allen Workman, 62 passed away in his home on September 9, 2011.

Fred was born on November 1, 1948 to Allen Kenneth and Betty Marie Rees Almblade. They were later divorced. Betty remarried Alden R Workman and was later adopted by Alden. As a teenager Fred grew up in Coalville on the farm with his Grandparents, Ralph and Melva Rees and attended high school at North Summit. He was active in sports and loved wrestling. After high school he went to Snow College and also attended Steven Henagers and Salt Lake Community College throughout his adult life. He loved books and learning. Fred met Cynthia Sue Mann, they were married January 3, 1973. After marriage and a couple of kids they moved to Federal Way, WA. There they had 3 more children. They eventually moved back to Coalville to help on the dairy farm. After his divorce from Cynthia, Fred moved to Ogden, Heber City, Evanston, Big Piney, Carthage Missouri, Burlington Kansas and then finally Soda Springs, ID. He was diagnosed later in life with Asperger's Autism. Fred's hobbies included reading and he had a special bond with animals.

He is survived by his 6 children Tara (Alberto) Diaz, Naples, UT; Toni Humphrey, Lyman, WY; Marci (Richard) Black, Buffalo Center, IA; Jacob (Lacy) Workman, Soda Springs, ID; Casie (Clark) Crocker, Soda Springs, ID; Benjamin (Des) Workman, Evanston WY and 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Donna (Byra) Sackett, South Jordan, UT; Peggy (Mikel) Christiansen, Ogden, UT and one brother Robert (Jodi) Workman, Coalville, UT. He is preceded in death by one brother, Robert Almblade and his parents.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Bailey Creek LDS Chapel (361 South 3rd East).
