IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Childs
September 24, 1944 – April 2, 2023
Gary Childs passed away peacefully and painlessly with his wife by his side on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Heritage Hospice Care in Soda Springs, Idaho.
Gary Lee Childs was born September 29, 1944, to Harley Wilburn Childs and Ethel Frances Blackburn Childs. He was welcomed home by his big brother Willard.
He attended schools in Soda Springs and graduated with his classmates in May 1963. He attended Idaho State University for two years. While in college he worked summers at Monsanto and was then hired fulltime and retired on October 1 st , 1999 after 33 years.
Gary was a passionate big game hunter until his later years when his hunting activities were limited to goose hunting with buddies Owen Gunnell, Bob Nelson and Ken Seelos. Lots of stories were told of their escapades.
Gary married Stephanie Anderson on March 5, 1994, in Las Vegas, Nevada. They created a blended family with their four children; Lindsay, Ashley, Taylor and Logan.
When Stephanie retired in 2013, they purchased a home in Hemet, California and enjoyed eight years as golfing snowbirds.
Gary is survived by his wife, Stephanie, daughter Lindsay (Matthew) Nolan of Couer de' Alene, Idaho; stepdaughter Ashley (Justin) Wiley of Sparks, Nevada, sons Taylor (Eri) Childs of Boise, Idaho and Logan (Kwang) Childs of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Connor and Trevor Nolan, Aspen and Robin Wiley, Colin Childs and Emma Childs. He is survived by his brother Will (Bette) of Encinitas, California, nieces and nephews and his boyhood and life-long friend Owen Gunnell.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
At the family's request Gary will be cremated and there will be no services at this time. When (and if) the season turns to summer a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
