Obituary

Gladys Cecelia Mariano Barker Call, 89; of Bancroft passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 in Pocatello at the Pocatello Care & Rehabilitation Center. Gladys was born January 14, 1923 in Pocatello, Idaho the daughter of Carmen and Gladys Long Mariano. She attended Pocatello High School and lived in Pocatello except for a few years when she lived in San Diego, Ca. and Portland, Or, until she moved to Bancroft in 1950. She lived in Vernal, Ut. for the past few years before moving to Pocatello recently. She married Frank Barker on December 1, 1939 in Pocatello, Idaho. They were later divorced. Gladys married J. Hyrum Call on December 20, 1949 in Pocatello, Idaho. He passed away on September 8, 1971. She re-married Frank Barker on Dec 1, 1989. He passed away on April 1, 1991. After Hyrum's death, she worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Caribou Memorial Living center until she retired in 1988. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a very active member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She also thought that Girls State was very important. She also enjoyed CB radios and spending time talking to the truckers and getting to know them. Gladys is survived by a son Frank and Virginia Barker of Vernal, UT; and a daughter, Sharon and Lynn Stanger of Bancroft, ID. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Delores (DeeDee) Bennett who was very close to her and helped her so much in her last years in Bancroft. She was preceded in death by her husbands, sisters, Stella Smallwood and Dora Kremer; and two grandchildren, Grant Stanger and Shari Lyn Barnes and three great grandchildren, Grant Settles, Cleston Barker and June Clarke. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Noon at the Bancroft LDS Ward Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Monday evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Tuesday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be at the Bancroft Cemetery. Listen to service:
