William Grant Settles, 27, of Green River, WY, formerly of Soda Springs, passed away at home Wednesday, August 6, 2008. He was born July 1, 1981 at Pocatello, ID, the son of Anthony (Tony) Dale and Connie Rae Barker Settles.
He was raised and educated in Soda Springs and also lived in Oregon and Washington, where he attended the Job Corp in Troutdale, Oregon certifying in Auto Body Repair. He returned to Soda Springs and was working for Henesh Construction. He currently was working at BHI as an Electricians Helper and living in Green River.
Grant married Yvonne Counterman November 27, 1998 in Soda Springs. They were later divorced.
He was a member of the Soda Springs LDS 1st Ward.
His hobbies included camping, hunting, fishing and four wheeling.
Grant is survived by his Fiancé, Wendy Hatch, Soda Springs; 3 sons and 1 daughter: Jordan Zachariah Settles, Soda Springs; Wm Hathcock, Preston, ID; Wm Tucker Settles, Soda Springs, ID and Shantelle Rae Settles, Soda Springs, ID; Also surviving is his parents Tony and Connie Settles, Soda Springs; grandparents Frank and Virginia Barker, Vernal, UT and Delma Settles, Bancroft, ID; a great-grandmother, Gladys Call, Bancroft, ID 1 brother, Peter Anthony and Jennifer Settles, Phoenix, AR; and 2 sisters; Denise and Joey O'Dell, Pocatello, ID. and Danielle Settles, Soda Springs, ID.
He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Dearl Settles, Great-grandparents Frank Barker Sr; Parley and Naomi Schenk, Peter and Wilma Murphy; 3 cousins, Grant "Big Grant" Stanger; Cleston Barker and Shari Lynn Barnes.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, August 12 at Noon at the Soda Springs 1st and 5th Ward Chapel, located at 3rd East and 4th South with Bishop Greg Torgesen officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
