Obituary

Gus Kladis, 72, of Grace passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home. Gus was born on August, 18, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Nick and Yerda Hagbloom Kladis. He graduated from Granite High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict. Gus Married Karen Lee Hill on January 21, 1976 in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. He lived in Salt Lake City, Utah and Lava Hot Springs, Idaho and has lived in Grace, Idaho for past 34 years. Gus worked for Utah Power and Light for 24 years and retired in 1998. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, steelhead fishing and other activities in the Great Outdoors. He especially loved following his grandchildren in their activities and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife Karen Kladis, and two sons Jason Kladis and Robert Kladis, all of Grace, ID, and four grandchildren, Colton, Garrett, Tora and Alex. He is also survived by two brothers Mike Kladis and Nick Kladis both of Salt Lake City, Utah, and two sisters Katie Hudson of Carlin, NV and Irene "Cookie" Bergendorf of Lava Hot Springs, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jerry Kladis and two sisters Helen Potter and Mary Mickulin. The family will visit with friends on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs from 5-7 p.m. As Gus requested, cremation will take place and graveside services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.
