H. W. "Hal" Rhead, 82, of Soda Springs, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. He was born March 27, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of James Huffman and Olive Walton Rhead.
Hal was raised and educated in Tremonton, Utah moving to Soda Springs in 1951.
He married Ora Mae Earl, September 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away April 9, 1959.
He married Connie Nadine Roholt, January 25, 1960 in Grace, Idaho. She passed away December 31, 1994.
He served in the U S Army during WWII receiving an honorable discharge at the rank of Master Sergeant.
Hal was a member of the Soda Springs LDS 4th Ward.
He was a partner in "Rhead and Mason Partnership". They have been involved in many business ventures thru the years. He was proud that he was a successful businessman with his best friend and business partner, Boyd Mason for over 50 years.
Hal enjoyed fishing with his boys. He was a wonderful father; a good friend to all and he enjoyed telling jokes.
Hal is survived by 4 sons and 3 daughters; Scott and Jill Rhead, Boise, Idaho; Bart Rhead and Cheri Linder, Soda Springs; Fred and Michelle Rhead, Portland, Oregon; H. Todd Rhead, Soda Springs; Judy Stoor, Pocatello, Idaho; Gayle and Pappy Lopez, Soda Springs, Idaho and Cindy Christenson, Salt Lake City, Utah. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, March 12th at 1:00 p.m. at the Hooper LDS Chapel. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery with Military Graveside Services.
