Obituary

Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Harry Albert Mayne passed away at his home in Grace on December 3, 2017. He was born November 22, 1934 the son of Jessie and Mary Mayne in a small cabin in St. Anthony, Idaho. He had recently celebrated his 83rd birthday with his family. His great-granddaughter (Karli Mayne) turned three that same day. He was especially fond and proud to share this day with Karli! Harry grew up with lots of brothers and sisters first in St. Anthony and when he was about seven they moved to Soda Springs, Idaho. His dad got a job with the rail road. He graduated from Soda Springs High School. His favorite Job was sheep herding in Diamond Creek which he worked a couple of years after graduation. Harry met and married his soul mate and sweetheart, Gail Stowe. They were married in Soda Springs on November 2, 1957. They just celebrated their 60th anniversary. Shortly after getting married he went into the army. They spent two years from fort Orr in California to Fort Bragg, North Carolina in the Air Corp. They were blessed with six children. He worked 33 years at Simplot in Conda. He lived a good and full life. He loved his family deeply and was very proud of them. He loved spending time with them, camping, fishing, hiking and dutch oven cooking. He has passed on his knowledge of dutch ovens to his son, Sheldon who now does all the cooking at all the Mayne Family Reunions. He is survived by his wife Gail Mayne, a son, Sheldon (Ruth) of Grace, ID, and four daughters, Brenda (Bruce) of Bedford, WY, Shannon (Clay) of Soda Springs, ID, Shelly of Pocatello, ID, Stacey (Matt) of Hughson, CA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Kevin Lee, his parents, two brothers, Blain and Mike and a sister Lilli Hensley and two grandsons, Brenton and Levi. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Sims Funeral Home (139 E. 2nd South) in Soda Springs. Family will visit with friends on Saturday 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
