Helen Bernice Erickson Kingsford, 84, of Soda Springs, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs.
She was born December 5, 1923 at Moscow, Idaho the daughter of Mandell B. and Amanda M. Gutches Erickson. She was raised and educated in Moscow, Idaho. She had also lived in Las Vegas, Nevada; Douglas, Arizona; Duke University at North Carolina; Rexburg, Boise and Pocatello Idaho. She had lived 38 years in Soda Springs, moving to Riverton, Utah for 2 1/2 years, then returning to Soda Springs for the past 8 years.
Helen married Leonard O. Kingsford, June 3, 1942 in the St. George LDS Temple.
She was president of the Caribou Title Company serving as secretary and receptionist.
Helen was a member of the Soda Springs LDS 2nd Ward. She had served in the Primary and Junior Sunday School organizations. She had been counselor in the Relief Society, served 2 stake missions and was a visiting teacher supervisor. She had made the ward bulletins for 4 bishops.
She was a member of the Soda Springs Civic Club. She was a member of the BPW and had been state secretary for one year.
Helen enjoyed one tour of America Sings; trips to visit family members, letter writing to friends and family and reading.
Helen is survived by her husband Leonard O. Kingsford, Soda Springs, 1 son Edward and Betty Kingsford, Riverton, Utah, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a half brother, Edward Erickson, Seattle Washington and a sister, Edith L. Clegg, Spokane, Washington. She was preceded in death by a son Eric L. Kingsford, her parents, sisters, Norma Groom, Barbara Sever and a brother, Reinhold Erickson and half brother Charles Erickson.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, May 3rd at Noon at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center located at 3rd West and 3rd South. Burial was in the Grace Cemetery.
