Obituary

Anna Henrietta Hogan, long time resident of Bancroft, peacefully passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in Herriman, Utah. She was born July 13, 1918 in Chesterfield, Idaho to Joseph Cleveland and Henrietta Ruger Hogan. She was the second daughter in a family of three girls, Marjorie, MaryAlene and one brother Glen all have preceded her in death. At the age of five after the death of her father the little family moved to Bancroft so they could attend school. After graduating from North Gem she attended University of Idaho Southern Branch, Albion Normal majoring in Education. Throughout the years Henrietta taught in Twin Falls, McCammon, Downy, Bancroft, three different time in Soda Springs, Brigham Young University Lab School and as a graduate assistant B.Y.U. Ed. Department. She received her Master's Degree in 1962. She was a sixty-year member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Honorary Society serving in many leadership positions. In 1987 Henrietta was presented with the Service to Family Award from the B.Y.U. Alumni Association. Her name is on a Memorial Monument on Campus. Henrietta has served in various Stake and Ward organizations for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She has been chorister in Ward organizations, choir director and music chairman. As age crept in it was difficult for her to give up the music. Music was an important part of her life She and MaryAlene sang together on many occasions. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was thankful for the many children she taught during her 43 years of teaching. For going through the good times and bad with family and friends. She has experienced living in a three room log home with no electricity or indoor plumbing, through a national depression, 4 wars, and has seen the wonderful progress in science, medicine and technology today. Services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Noon at the Bancroft LDS Ward Chapel. Family will visit with friends on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Chesterfield Cemetery. Listen to service
