Obituary

Iolanda Rinetti Brennan of Salt Lake City and Soda Springs, Idaho, died July 22, 2015. Iolanda was born in July 1915 in Salt Lake City to Cesare and Rita Rinetti.

She attended St. Mary's of the Wasatch during elementary grades, high school and through her college years. Before her marriage, she worked as cashier and hostess for the family restaurant, the Rotisserie Inn. Iolanda and her husband John were founding members of St. Ambrose parish in 1948. She was a long-time member of the Salt Lake City Catholic Women's League. Iolanda was most recently a member of the St. Mary's Parish in Soda Springs, Idaho.

As a young woman enjoyed horseback riding, tennis and golf. Throughout her entire life, staying at family cabins in Island Park, Idaho provided cherished family memories. For many years she was a member in good standing of a "gab" and bridge club. As an excellent cook, she enjoyed cooking and hosting countless family gatherings. Iolanda loved collecting antiques and was a "charter" member of the As Is warehouse. Iolanda was the chief accountant and care giver for numerous members of her family. Her children affectionately referred to her as the matriarch of the "Crazies", and was lovingly known as "Crazy Legs."

Iolanda was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Andrew John Brennan. She is survived by her sister Sylvia Wightman, her daughter Marian (Tony), sons Andrew and Matthew (Mary Kay), four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces & nephews.

The family would like to thank Caribou Memorial Living Center's loving CNAs, nurses, kitchen staff and its Pink Ladies Auxiliary. A very special thanks to, Iolanda's "guardian angel", Maria Martinez, CNA. Also thank you to all of the Brennan and Rinetti clan who recently attended, and/or sent well wishes, celebrating Iolanda's 100th birthday in Soda Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Caribou Memorial Living Center Auxiliary.

A vigil service will be held at Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 E 100 S, on Sunday evening, July 26th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Committal services to follow the funeral mass at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
