Ireta Mickelsen, 78; of Bancroft, Idaho passed away on April 1, 2020.

She was born on April 10, 1941 in Bancroft, Idaho the daughter of Leland and Grace Grant Mickelsen. She was the 10th child of 10 children.

She graduated from high school and became a Registered Cosmetician in 1961. After attending cosmetology school, she moved back to Bancroft and worked.
She was appointed to the Idaho State Cosmetology Examining Board by Governor Cecil Andrus. She also had served as President, treasurer and many other offices on the Idaho State Board of Cosmetology.

Ireta also helped form and serve on the North Gem Development Corporation. She had also been on the Bancroft City Council and was a member of the Bancroft Auxiliary and was in charge of Girls State for many years. She also started the Lighting of the Square at Tuescher Square and the Easter Egg Hunt.

She loved cooking and was well known for her delicious caramel corn. She also loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served in many capacities in the young women's organization.

Ireta is survived by her daughter, Terrie Lee and Kelley Crossley of Bancroft, ID and also three grandchildren, Kaeli Hale of Pocatello, ID, Kelci Crossley of Pocatello, ID, Kylee and Christopher Frost of Star Valley Ranch, WY, and one great-grandchild, Jaecee Grace Hale. She is also survived by two sisters, Erma Banks of Chesterfield, ID, DeLila Simons of Chesterfield, ID, and three sisters-in-law, Karen Mickelsen of Pocatello, ID, Virginia Mickelsen of Boise, ID, Pearl Mickelsen of Bancroft, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents Leland and Grace Mickelsen and five brothers, Charles M. Mickelsen, LaMonte G. Mickelsen, Bob L. Mickelsen, Adrian F. Mickelsen, George Mickelsen, and one sister, Marva Ann Mickelsen.

Graveside services will be held for the family and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
