Our beloved mother, Jacquelin Bennion Poulsen, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2011 to be with her eternal companion and heavenly family. Her loving family was at her side at the time of her death.
Jacquelin was born April 8, 1932 to Roy and Mary Hayes Bennion. Her father passed away just before her third birthday. Although her mother was widowed, Jacque was never without love, guidance and companionship with the help of her loving brothers, Keith and Mervin; as well as her grandparents, aunts and uncles. At the age of twelve, her mother married Leon Bollar who would become her father, mentor and friend. With the love and support of the people in her life, she would become a beautiful wife and mother.
She lived her entire life in Soda Springs, Idaho where she met and married Verlin Willard Poulsen on July 4, 1950. For 55 years until Verlin passed away in 2006, they enjoyed and cherished each other. Together they raised four children; Mardi (Dan) Wheeler of Bakersfield CA,
Zan (Jeff) Coonce and Blair Poulsen of Reno NV, and Blake (Ann) Poulsen of Soda Springs. She has nine grandchildren; Ashley Wheeler Mutschelknaus, Alicia Wheeler, Marcus Wheeler (USAF), Jacquelin Coonce, Blair Coonce, Troy Poulsen, Jake Poulsen, Melia Poulsen, Beau Poulsen and one great grandson, Edwin Wheeler.
Jacque and Verlin owned and managed the Cedar View Supper Club for several years, but her true passion was her family. She was multi-talented; including painting, ceramics, gardening, furniture refinishing, sewing, and loved spending time in the kitchen.
She was a member of the LDS 4th Ward where she strengthened her testimony and cultivated many friendships throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, step-father, and both brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at noon at the Hooper LDS Chapel in Soda Springs. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and on Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
