Obituary

Janet Brown Cellan, a lifelong resident of Soda Springs, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly on September 15, 2020. Janet was born on October 14th, 1956, in Soda Springs, Idaho to Ralph and Della Brown.

Her childhood was spent on the family farm where she enjoyed learning how to farm like her dad and work alongside her siblings. Her dad (papa) always thought she was a great farmer.

Janet graduated from Soda Springs High School, where she was active in the band, choir, National Honor Society, student council and drill team. Dance was her passion as a young woman; she was born to dance. She was also a very talented oboist in the school band. After high school, she attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah for two years.

During high school she met her best friend, Sidney Richard Cellan.

On June 14th, 1978, Sid and Janet were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They have three daughters:  Amber, Cadence and Whitney.

Janet worked in the banking industry for most of her life, eventually retiring as the branch manager at US Bank in Soda Springs, Idaho. In addition to working a very busy and demanding career she always made time for her daughters. She never missed a dance competition, an athletic event or a piano recital.

She also spent many hours playing the piano and organ in church service. She played beautifully and was a great blessing to all who could hear her lovely music. She loved to serve in the community as well. She was kind and adored by all.

Her family brought her the most joy in this life.  She was always so proud of her daughters. She loved her three sons-in-law deeply. Her greatest treasure was her 11 grandchildren. They all adored and loved their "grandma bonkin" dearly.

Janet is survived by her husband of 42 years, Sidney Cellan, her children including Amber (Jeff) Tingey of Chubbuck, Idaho, Cadence (Ben) Blaser of Boise, Idaho, and Whitney (Kenny) Ford of Ammon, Idaho, her mother, Della Watkins Brown, her 11 grandchildren, her brother, Jerry Brown, and two sisters, Renee Harris and Melanie Athay.

She is preceded in death by her loving father Ralph Lynn Brown. What a sweet reunion that must have been.
