Jared Scott Smith, 27; of Soda Springs passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 as result of an accident.

Jared was born May 6, 1984 the son of Scott Smith and Stephanie Dockstader in Soda Springs, Idaho.

Jared grew-up in Wayan, Idaho until 6th grade when he moved to Soda Springs where he attended Soda Springs High School and graduated. He then worked in Pocatello until he started his career in carpentry where he worked in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for 3 years then returned to Soda Springs.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Jared was an avid dirt biker and also loved snowboarding, snowmobiling and wakeboarding.

He is survived by his two year old daughter Paeton Borne Smith, his mother Stephanie Nelson, two brothers Zachary Smith and Luke Nelson all of Soda Springs, Idaho. Also surviving are his grandparents; Doug and Geneal Dockstader and JC and Vera Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father Scott J. Smith and a brother Derek D. Smith.

Services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at Noon at the Bailey Creek LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
