It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our father Jay Lavor Andreasen on May 2, 2009 in Bullhead City, Arizona. Dad was born on August 27, 1937 in Preston, Idaho to Owen and Jessie Andreasen.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He graduated from Grace High School and then attended Utah State University where he completed his bachelors degree in Physical Education. He did many things during his life, he was a teacher, a principal, coach, director of a job corp center, a farmer, and a real estate developer.
Dad married our Mom, Karen Sue Smith Andreasen, October 27, 1955. He loved his family, Dad always remembered to send a special card to each of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren on their birthdays. He loved fishing, arrow head hunting, all sports, and could always throw a rock farther than anyone we knew. We loved his kindness, sense of humor and thoughtful nature. We will miss him, and have faith he and Mom are back together watching over their family.
Dad left this life with three children, Blaine Jay (LaDean) Andreasen, Cami Sue (Kyle) Roberts, and Robli (Jeff) Kennedy. Nine grandchildren, Tiffany, Timothy, Kristi, Jeni, Nicholas, Jordyn, Sloghn, Franki, Parker. Five great grandchildren, Tyler, Andrew, Bethany, Alexa, and Paige. Dad treasured the many friends he made through the years. He will truly be missed by everyone that knew him.
Dad asked that his body be donated to science. There will be a graveside memorial at a later date in Cleveland, Idaho. Family and friends will be notified.
