Jerry Wayne Schuessler, 73; passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer, Saturday, March 6, 2010 in his home surrounded by loved ones.

Jerry was born August 19, 1937 in Los Angeles, the only child of Leland Schuessler and Katherine Rae (McQuaid) Schuessler.

He attended Santa Monica City College. He moved to Las Vegas in 1967 with his wife Marian (Campbell) Schuessler and two sons. He and Marian later divorced.

In 1972 he married Debra Knight and together they continued to raise Jerry's two young sons, Douglas and David.

Jerry was active in the Methodist Church and served as Scout Master. Jerry loved his work as buyer/materials controller for the Dept. of Aviation McCarran Airport, Las Vegas, retiring in 2006.

Jerry is survived by his wife Debbie, son Douglas, daughter-in-law Rosemary, son David and grandchildren, Allison, Nikki, Colleen and David.

After considering several locations for retirement, Soda Springs was chosen. Jerry adored Debbie's family who lived in this area, the wonderful people of Soda Springs, and the beautiful and interesting climate, history, and terrain of this Pioneer Country. Always living in large cities, he especially enjoyed the quiet, intimate, personable, loving and friendly people who always seemed to take the time to have a chat with him.

To honor Jerry's wishes, a gathering of family and friends will be held to honor his life at a later date.
