Obituary

James "Jim" Larry Cooper, 81; of Pocatello, formerly of Soda Springs, Idaho passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in Pocatello.

Jim was born on July 2, 1938 in Fredrick Town, Missouri the son of Roy Lee Edward and Freeda Pruitt Cooper. He moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming as a small child where he attended school in Cheyenne and graduated from High School. He worked as a welder in Wyoming and also as an equipment operator on a highway crew.

He met the love of his life, Carol Corbett in Soda Springs while visiting and they were married on September 21, 1963 in Soda Springs, ID. They spent the rest of their lives in Soda Springs where he retired from Monsanto after 30 years. Carol passed away on October 7, 2002.

Jim had a great love for old cars. He loved restoring them and driving them.

He is survived by one son and one daughter, Brad and Anjie Cooper of Blackfoot, ID, Robin and Garth Monroe of Soda Springs, ID and also 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and a brother Lester Cooper of Cheyenne, WY. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol and a grandson Riley Monroe.

Services will be on Tuesday, February 4 at Noon at the Sims Funeral Home. Family will visit with friends on Monday from 6-7 p.m. and on Tuesday from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.
