Joan Pauline Soderman Somsen was born August 1st, 1930 in Soda Springs, Idaho to John and Martha (Huse) Soderman.

She attended school in Wayan and Soda Springs.

At sixteen years old, she married Robert Somsen in Soda Springs. She later finished her high school education.

She and Bob had no children but were parents to many dogs whom they loved.

Joan was an active member of the Presbyterian Church until her hearing declined.

She and Bob were both mail carriers. Her route went to Bailey Creek and Alexander while Bob went to Conda and Wayan.

Joan and Bob loved to snow machine in their early years and loved to go look around Caribou Mountain.

Before driving the mail, she worked at Western Auto and also the Library.

Joan passed away peacefully on July 12, 2017 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center.

She is survived by one brother Vern (Ulla) Soderman and one sister Shirley (Allen) Rolfson and one niece and Three Nephews and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Noon at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs. Family will visit with friends from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Funeral Home prior to going to the Cemetery.
