Joe Van Lindsay, 55; of Soda Springs passed away Saturday, February 18, 2012 as result of a snowmobile accident.
Joe was born on April 21, 1956 in Soda Springs, Idaho the son of Darrell Raymond and Gwen VanderSteen Lindsay.
He was raised in Soda Springs and graduated from Soda Springs High School. He attended cosmetology school and business equipment repair.
Joe married Nancy Martinsen on March 12, 1976 in Ogden, Utah.
Together they owned and operated LINZ Style Station in Soda Springs. He worked in this profession for 28 years. He also worked in the office at Reids Plumbing and Heating for 35 years.
Joe was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He enjoyed camping, cooking, snowmobiling and riding four wheelers. He also loved his family very much and especially spending time with his grandkids.
Joe is survived by his wife Nancy of Soda Springs, and two sons, Daniel Joe and Tiffani Lindsay of Grace, ID; Michael Raymond and Kacey Lindsay of Soda Springs, ID; and two daughters, Tricia and Darrin Dockstader of Soda Springs, ID; and Whitney Lindsay of Soda Springs, ID. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and mother Gwen Lindsay and one brother Darrell Ray Lindsay and two sisters, Jane Garbett and Shelley Coziah. He was preceded in death by a son, Matthew Reid Lindsay, his father Darrell Raymond Lindsay, a granddaughter, Mattie Joe Whitney Lindsay and his father-in-law Reid Martinsen.
Services will be held on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Noon at the Bailey Creek LDS Chapel (361 South 3rd East). The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Church and on Friday morning from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
