It is with deep sorrow and much love that we celebrate the life of John "Big John" Kumen Tarbet of Soda Springs, Idaho who passed away on September 28, 2021 at the age of 81 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his beautiful wife of 51 years, Patsy; children: Jona (Eric) Hendricks, Shauna Tarbet; grandchildren; Sheyanne (Daniel) Haviland, E.J. Hendricks and Dezaray Hendricks; brother; David (Sandra) Tarbet Paula Burgin; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

He was proceeded in death by grandson, Kolten Jade Tarbet, grandparents, Kumen and Maude Tarbet, Libby and Newell Purser, parents, Ray and Alice Tarbet and his siblings, Dallin Tarbet, Marie (Terry) Johnson and nephew Dale Tarbet.

John was born on March 5, 1940 in Garland, Utah.  He attended school in Downey Idaho and graduated from Marsh Valley High School in 1958.  He relocated to Soda Springs, Idaho shortly after with his family.  He began working at Monsanto and retired after 25 years.  He met and married Patsy Campbellof Soda Springs on January 15, 1970.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1986. To their union, they had Jonalyn and Shauna Rae.  After retirement, they spent several years going to Arizona in the winter until John's health declined.

His hobbies and interest include shooting, carving, hunting, fishing, trap shooting, guns, camping, mountain rides, four wheeling, his schnauzers, and loved his kids and grandkids.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.
