Our Amazingly talented husband, Father, grandfather, brother and friend, Joseph Merrill Hulse 85 of Soda Springs, Idaho passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 with his sweetheart Linda by his side, and his faithful puppy Bear.
Joe was born on August 26, 1938 in Central, Idaho to Merrill Weaver and Blanch Christensen Hulse. He grew up and attended school in Grace, Idaho. He graduated Grace High School and continued his education at Snow College, in Ephraim, Utah on a football scholarship. He loved Radio and became a "disc jockey" which brought him back to Soda Springs to work at KBRV Radio. He went to work later at Kerr McGee Chemical Corp. where he retired after 33 years.
He loved hunting and fishing. He was a lover of music and had a beautiful voice. He loved golfing with all his friends and sometimes his wife. He also enjoyed keeping up with all the High School sports in the area.
Joe was married to his high school sweetheart Marla Bowen on December 17, 1955. They were blessed with a daughter Valerie and later were blessed with a son Merrill Joe. Joe and Marla later divorced.
Joe married Linda Cotton in Grace, Idaho at the home of Joe's parents February 14, 2007. They were married 16 years when Joe passed. With this marriage came two step sons, Michael Meccico and Joseph Meccico.
Joe is survived by his daughter Valerie (Mike) Arnold of Idaho Falls, ID, Merrill Joe Hulse of St. George, Utah, stepsons Michael (Jeri) Meccico of Harper, Texas and Joseph (Tari) Meccico of Kerrville, Texas and Jacksonville, North Carolina, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, his sister Marie Murray and sister Marilyn (Brock) Hurt and several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Merrill and Blanch Hulse, his brother Mark Hulse and his brother in law, Craig Murray, one nephew, Cody Murray, three great nieces and two great nephews, great grandson, Azaria and great grandson Aiden McMurdo.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 13, 2023 at 12 noon at Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs, Idaho. 139 East 2nd South. A viewing will be held prior the service from 11am-12pm.
