Juanita Schvaneveldt Gates Sparks, 77; of Pocatello passed away Monday, February 8, 2010 in the Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello.

Juanita was born May 19, 1932 the daughter of Leslie and Florence Elizabeth Gibbons Schvaneveldt in Logan, Utah.

She graduated from Soda Springs High School. She also graduated from the Idaho State University Nursing program in 1977.

Juanita married Ferris Gates.

She lived in Southeastern Idaho all her life and has lived in Pocatello up to her passing away.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Juanita enjoyed sewing, dolls, reading and listening to music.

She is survived by one son, Michael Lane Sparks of Pocatello, ID; and a grandson and a granddaughter, Michael Scott Rudolph and Amber Nicole Sparks both of Pocatello, ID.
She is also survived by three brothers Boyd Schvaneveldt, Demar Schvaneveldt and Blake Schvaneveldt. She was preceded in death by her husband Ferris, and her parents and one sister Ludene Call.

Services will be held on Thursday at Noon at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs. The family will visit with friends on Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Sims Funeral Home prior to services. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
