IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judy Kay
Nelson
June 30, 1960 – February 7, 2020
Judy Kay Nelson was born June 30th, 1960 to Harry and June Gauss in Grangeville Idaho. She grew up there and was very active in 4-H winning many awards. She loved riding horses and when she got a little older, motorcycles too.
She graduated from Grangeville High School in 1978. Judy was a Junior Miss of America, now known as Distinguished Young Women.
When she met her husband John Nelson it was the love of her life. They were married in Waha, Idaho in July 1995. They lived happily in Lewiston Idaho. Sadly, John was diagnosed with lung cancer shortly after and died in July 1996.
She moved to Diamondville, Wyoming to be near her sister Eva. From there she came to Soda Springs.
Judy wore many hats in life but most of her jobs incorporated her love to cook. If she wasn't cooking, she was in the garden. She could grow anything.
Judy was an elder of the Presbyterian church in Soda Springs. She was a member of Golden Rod #64 order of the eastern star.
Judy passed away February 7, 2020 due to complications of pneumonia.
Judy is preceded in death by John, her mother, father, and sister Eva.
She is survived by a daughter, Cassy. Five grandchildren Jazmine, Baley, Arabella, Tory, and Beverly Kay and Two sisters, Barb and Jeannie, nieces Brenda and Jenny, nephews Rick and Cody.
Judy was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held this summer.
