Karen Marie Mansfield Prowell, 47, of Grace Idaho passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends.
Karen was born in Green River, Utah on January 15, 1962 to George and Edythe Mansfield. She lived in Utah until the age of 13, when her family moved to Grace, Idaho. She lived in Soda Springs for five years and moved back to Grace to raise her family.
She married Bruce Murray on December 14, 1979 in Grace, Idaho and they were later divorced.
She married Greg Prowell on September 5, 1998 in Grace, Idaho.
Karen was a cook and bartender and had worked for Enders, The Office, Mom and Dads, Grace Lounge and Stockman's Bar & Grill in Soda Springs. She organized and catered many benefits on behalf of those living with cancer. There are many family, friends and strangers that had the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate her multiple talents of crocheting, sewing, baking and cooking. She also took part in local bowling and dart leagues. She enjoyed camping and spending time with friends and family.
Karen is survived by her husband Greg and three daughters, Tiffany and Justin Peterson of Soda Springs, ID; Nicole Murray of Soda Springs, ID; and Danielle Prowell of Grace, ID. Also surviving are 2 grandsons, her father George and step-mother Judy Mansfield of Grace, ID; and four brothers Greg Mansfield of Chubbuck, ID; John Mansfield of Pocatello, ID; and Robert Mansfield and Brett Mansfield both of Grace, ID and one sister Shauna Banning of Nampa, ID. She was preceded in death by her mother Edythe Mansfield.
Services were held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. Burial was in the Grace Cemetery.
The family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
