Karol McBride Stephens, 90; of Soda Springs, Idaho passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022.

Karol was born on September 14, 1931 in Burley, Idaho the son of William Edmond and Dorotha McBride Stephens.

The majority of his life was spent in Soda Springs with a couple or years in Terreton, Idaho, Pocatello, Idaho, and Montpelier, Idaho.  He owned a sporting goods store in Montpelier and Pocatello.  While working for the U.S. Postal Services for many years until retirement, he designed and built 36 residential homes in Soda Springs.  Each home he sold came with a complete garden.  He was an avid gardener.

He graduated from Soda Springs High School and then attended BYU for a year.

He served in the United States Marine Corp and served during the Korean Conflict where he was wounded and received a purple heart.

Karol married the love of his life,  Doris Lorette Sizemore on June 12, 1951 in Soda Springs, Idaho and the were together for 71 years.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served in many positions.

Karol is survived by his wife Doris Lorette Stephens, and two sons and two daughters, Randy and Terri Stephens of Soda Springs, ID, Eugene Scott Stephens of Mackay, Idaho, Leanne Nichols of Soda Springs, Idaho and Wendy and Robert Hill of McCall, Idaho.  Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers, a son-in-law and two granddaughters and one grandson and a great-grandson.
