Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, passed away in his home surrounded by loving family July 24, 2011.
Dad was born August 6, 1930 in Logan, Utah to John and Ethel Spackman. He spent his early years in Richmond, Utah where he graduated High School and worked with his Dad on their small family farm. He married his sweetheart, Jeannie, on July 28, 1950, in the Logan Temple. He served in Germany during the Korean War and he was a devoted employee of Monsanto for 33 years and provided well for his family.
Kaye was a private man. He didn't say much, but what he did say was thoughtful and forthright. He had a great sense of humor and was well respected by those he associated with. They appreciated that he was fair, honest, and treated everyone as equal.
He was a loving husband and father who spent most of his personal and family time camping, fishing and traveling. He loved the great outdoors! Some family trips include California, Oregon, Canada and Alaska. His favorite places were close to home, like Gravel Creek, where the family enjoyed their yearly reunion for 35 years.
After his retirement, he and Jean spent their winters in Overton, Nevada where they enjoyed the beautiful desert, warm weather, and good friends.
His family was very important to him. He looked forward to holiday gatherings and took interest in their activities. He especially loved the little grandbabies.
He is survived by his wife, Allie Jean, his children: Robert (Sadie) Spackman, Debra (Gordon) Fisher, Judy (Joseph) Smith, Cindy (Nathan) Paret; eleven grandchildren and his sister Jean Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings, and one granddaughter.
A funeral honoring Dad's life will be held at noon on Friday, July 29, 2011 at the Soda Springs Hooper Chapel, 281 East Hooper Avenue. Friends may visit with family that morning from 9:30 to 11:30 at the church. Interment at Richmond, Utah Cemetery.
Our family would like to extend a special thanks to Angie, Betsy, Maria, and all of the caregivers at Access Hospice for there loving care concern for Dad.
We Love and Miss you Gramps!
