Leah LaRae Robinson was born February 7, 1934, in Logan, Utah to Hezzie and Leah Robinson. The family moved to Preston, Idaho, where she attended school until the fall of 1946. The family then moved to Soda Springs, Idaho. While in school she was an assistant editor of the junior yearbook and attended Girl's State.
After graduating LaRae attended Henagers School of Business in Salt Lake City, Utah and worked as a stenographer while going to school for Utah Fish and Game. She later returned to Soda Springs the summer of 1952 to work for Anaconda Mining Company in Conda, Idaho as a bookkeeper.
LaRae married Leonard J. Rasmussen on March 22, 1953, and together they had one son, Leonard Britt.
She returned to work in 1965, working at the Alice Joy Shop and is March 1966 was employed by The City of Soda Springs as the city clerk/treasurer. LaRae worked there for 23 years before retiring in 1989.
She was a member of the LDS 2nd Ward where she had callings as cub scout leader, primary, mutual and visiting teacher. LaRae also belonged to the Caribou Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (Pink Ladies), Daughters of Utah Pioneers and Home Makers Club.
She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, handwork, sewing, cards (bridge or pinochle), camping, fishing and hunting with family.
LaRae is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son Britt (Brenda) Rasmussen, grandchildren, Jason (Brandy) Rasmussen; Cody Rasmussen, Brock (Heidi) Rasmussen, Tyson (Janelle) Miles; Derek Miles; Morgan (Bobby) Hansen, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. 2 brothers Wayne Robinson, Pocatello, ID and Robert (Jackie) Robinson, Phoenix, AZ.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Soda LDS 2nd Ward. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m.
