Obituary

Lenniss Elaine Moore Lewis, Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away at her daughter's home in Jerome Idaho on December 27, 2016. Lenniss was born in Soda Springs on August 15, 1935 to Walter J. Moore and Elsie Hopkins Moore. She was the youngest of 3 children. Her Mother Elsie Hopkins Moore passed away when she was 4 years old. Her father, Walter, then remarried Catherine Cross, whom she considered her mom. She met her husband of 58 years, Max J. Lewis when they were freshman in high school. They graduated high school together and were married soon after graduation. They were married on April 6, 1955, Max passed away on May 20, 2013. She missed him every day. They were sealed in the LDS temple. She is survived by her four children, Danna Louise (Greg) Murray, Brian (Lynda) Max Lewis, Stacey Drue (Dave) Knight, and Blair W. (Shauna) Lewis, and 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Emma Jean Call of Rexburg, and sister-in-law, Jackie Moore. She is also survived by her cousin Carol Moore Parsons, they were like sisters. Lenniss lived her entire life in Soda Springs. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren and she never wanted to be anywhere else. She retired as a Medical Receptionist to Dr.'s Gerald Young and John Obray. She worked for over 20 years for them. She loved working for them and serving the community. She loved to cook, sew, and spend time with her kids and grandkids. She always made a big deal out of Christmas, birthdays, and holidays. When her kids were young, she babysat for other people in the community and relatives. When hunting time came around every year, she spent the week cooking and canning. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Max J. Lewis, parents Walter and Elsie, her step-mom Catherine, brother Walter Dean Moore, brother-in-law, Robert Call. Services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the LDS Stake Center in Soda Springs at 12 noon. Family and friends may visit Monday January 2, 2017 at Sims Mortuary in Soda Springs from 6-8 p.m. and the following morning at the LDS Stake Center from 10:30-11:30 a.m. followed by burial at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
