Obituary
Lilas Karna Rasmussen Van Vleet, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away quietly at the age of 94, at the Caribou Memorial Living Center on Friday, April 24, 2009.
She was born January 29, 1915, to Lars and Anna Julia (Anderson) Rasmussen in Lago, Idaho. Lilas married Fredrick Burton Van Vleet on July 18, 1934; solemnized in the Logan Temple on December 14, 1953.
Lilas was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she had many callings.
She is survived by her son Raymond (Ila Rae) Van Vleet of Grace, ID; and daughter Sandy (Richard) Leonard of Salt Lake City, UT; bother Leonard of Denver, CO; 6 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred, her parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
Services were held on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Noon at the Thatcher-Williams Ward Chapel in Niter.
Interment was at the Grace Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the nurses and aides at the Caribou Memorial Living Center for the kindness and care that they given mom during her stay there.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to either the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.
