Lonny Dean Harris, age 63, of Soda Springs passed away on Monday, July 13, 2020 at his home.
Lonny was born on April 25, 1957 in Soda Springs the son of Carroll Dean Harris and Effie Fern (Gamble) Harris.
Lonny was born and raised in Soda Springs. During high school he spent his summers working on a dairy farm for Carl and Pat Jorgensen of Central. Lonny was also in Vo-tech where he learned welding and automotive repair, graduating high school in 1975. After graduation he worked at Paul Robert's Machine Shop for a few years. From his first marriage he became a father to Randie in 1979 and Tyler a year later. In August of 1981 he married Nancy Mae Murr. Together they had three children, Jessica, Brad, and Chad. They were about to celebrate their 39th wedding anniversary. Lonny traveled a lot for work once he started his career with Pacific Corp as a traveling mechanic. He enjoyed working and sometimes even bringing home the large trucks he would work on. Lonny was the guy that everyone would call first when they needed the best mechanic.
Lonny always had a sense of adventure and loved to snow mobile, camp, and water ski. One of his favorite hobbies was a large train collection, which he would proudly show off.
He is survived by his wife Nancy, 5 children, Randie McEntire of Buena Vista, CO, Tyler McEntire (Becky) of Pocatello, Jessica Bristol (Dallas) of Albion, Brad Harris (Ashley) of Pocatello, and Chad Harris of Soda Springs. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Dillion, Liberty, Mason, Tanner, Daxtyn, and Karidee, as well as many nieces and nephews. A brother and sister, Rodney Harris and Daneen Roan (Steve), and sister-in-law MaryAnne Harris. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and one brother, Frank Wade Harris.
No services will be held per his final wishes.
