Louise M. Garretson, 62; of Soda Springs passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Louise was born in Dalton, Nebraska on December 10, 1946 to John and Evelyn "Faye" Heintz Wiegand.
She grew up on a farm 10 miles out of Dalton. She married Roger Lee Garretson in Dalton, Nebraska on November 29, 1968. She has also lived in Pocatello, ID, Soda Springs, ID and in Montpelier, ID.
Louise received a BA in Education, Home Economics and Special Education. Her occupation was a Special Education teacher.
Louise was a member of the Soda Springs and Montpelier Baptist Churches and enjoyed playing the organ at Montpelier Baptist church. She enjoyed riding horses, camping, 4-wheeling, making porcelain dolls, spending time with grandchildren, spinning yarn, knitting, crocheting and painting.
Louise is survived by one son and one daughter: Patrick Lee (LaRene Cellan) Garretson, Pocatello; and Dawn Karen (Wayne) Perkins, Soda Springs. Also survived by 7 Grandchildren: Kayin Patrick Garretson, Rylee-Ann Mary Garretson, Noah Jacob Garretson, Landen Lee Garretson, Kambree LaRene Garretson, of Pocatello; Vanessa Isabelle Perkins and Matthew Vance Perkins of Soda Springs; a brother, Leonard James (Deanna) Wiegand of Fort Morgan, Colorado, and a sister, Evelyn Ruth (Wiegand) Saucier of Anchorage, Alaska.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Graveside services were held Monday, July 13, 2009, at 11:00 am at the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs. Cremation services were held on July 10, 2009.
