Lyle Robert Peck, 94, passed away at his home in Sublimity, Oregon on October 28, 2016.
Lyle was born October 26, 1922 on a farm in Muscatine, Iowa. He was the youngest of 3 boys born to David George Peck and Ollie Annie Rae Andreas. The family moved to Idaho when Lyle was a teenager and he graduated from the Thatcher High School.
He moved to Pocatello, Idaho where he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. In June 1941 he married Alta Emma Rasmussen McCann and became step-father to Donna, Glennys and Keith.
They moved to San Pedro, California where Lyle worked in the ship yards. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Philippine Islands with the 32nd Infantry Division. After his discharge from the Army, he was employed by Los Angeles County, retiring in May 1975.
He and Alta moved to Grace, Idaho following his retirement. He served on the Grace City Council for 10 years. He was also actively involved at the Senior Center in Soda Springs for awhile. Lyle was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Alta passed away and he married Anna Marie Peirano Kibbie (who was also active at the senior Center) on August 17, 1994 and they made their home in Soda Springs, Idaho. They enjoyed traveling on many memorable trips and cruises. Lyle was a wonderful gardener, fisherman and outdoorsman.
Lyle was preceded in death by his first wife Alta, his parents, brothers Dale and Dean, step-daughters Donna and Glennys and step-son Keith. He is survived by his wife Anna, step-son John Bosshardt (Diana) of Lake Oswego, Oregon; step-daughter-in-law Judy McCann and family and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted on Monday, November 7th at Noon at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs, Idaho. A viewing will be held from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs with Military Honors.
