Obituary
Longtime Delta, Co. resident, Lyle Lloyd Yost, D.D.S., died Tuesday, September 16, 2008, at Delta County Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was sixty-four years of age.
A funeral service was held at 11:00; a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2008, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Delta, CO. Interment was at 10:00 a.m. Monday September 22, 2008 at the Lund Cemetery, in Lund Idaho.
Lyle Lloyd Yost was born to Herman John Yost and Hortence Lloyd on May 6, 1944, in Soda Springs, Idaho. He spent his childhood in Brancroft, Idaho, and graduated from high school there. He furthered his education at Snow College, BYU, and the University of Iowa where he earned his doctorate in dentistry.
Lyle married his sweetheart, Judith Ellen Webber and their marriage was sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Utah Temple on June 9, 1967. They resided in Yuma, Arizona, before settling in Delta, Colorado thirty-one years ago.
Lyle was a successful dentist in Delta for over thirty-years. As a young man, Lyle served as a missionary in Canada and Alaska. Later on, he served as Bishop for over five years at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Delta, and also served in the Stake Presidency of the Montrose Stake.
Lyle's interests included spending time outdoors whether he was hunting, fishing, or playing racket ball. He also enjoyed his work and cherished the friends he made along the way.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife, Judith Yost of Delta, CO; one son, Morgan Yost, D.D.S. and his wife Jennifer of Delta, CO; four daughters: Tamara Astin and her husband Steve of Delta, CO; Rachel Smith and her husband Mark of South Jordan, UT; Mariah Benson and her husband Ryan of Woodland Hills, CA; and Natalie Stark and her husband Adam of Delta, CO; three brothers: Kent Yost and his wife Emilee of Pocatello, ID; Gordan Yost and his wife Sherry of Bancroft, ID; and Monte Yost and his wife Shawna of Bancroft, ID; and one sister, Cindy Arquette and her husband Rod of Seattle, WA.
Lyle is further survived by fourteen grandchildren: Andrew, Jade and Brayden Astin of Delta, Cameron, Chandler, Calvin, and Charity Smith of South Jordan, Utah, Grace and Gwen Benson Woodhills CA. Zoie, Ellie and Tyson Stark of Delta, Mia, and Tyler Yost of Delta
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents.
