Obituary

Madge Harland Wilkinson Zoellner Bailey, 93, of Bancroft, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center in Soda Springs.

She was born March 8, 1916 at Hornsea, Yorkshire, England the daughter of John Francis and Ethel Maud Pooley Harland.

She was raised and educated in Hornsea, a small seaside town by the North Sea Yorkshire, England. She moved to Hull in 1934 where she married and lived there during the 2nd World War until emigrating to the U S in June 1960, after the death of her first husband.

Madge married Harold Wilkinson, April 21, 1935 at Hull, Yorkshire, England. Harold passed away January 6, 1960. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Madge married Erich Walter Zoellner August 10, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Erich passed away Aug 25, 1980.

Madge married Seth Roderick Bailey May 18, 1985 in Soda Springs, Idaho. Seth passed away February 3, 2003 in Pocatello, Idaho.

She was a member of the Bancroft LDS Ward. Madge joined the church in December 1954 while still in England. She had served in the Relief Society, Primary, Cub Scouts, Young Women, and taught Gospel Doctrine Classes.
She had worked 18 years at ZCMI in Salt Lake in the Art Needlecraft Department. After retiring she was a Temple Worker in the Salt Lake Temple and the Logan Temple for 2 years.

Madge was a member of the American Women Business Assoc., and the Bancroft Ladies Literary Club.

She enjoyed knitting, handwork, traveling and reading. She always did the cross word puzzles in INK.

Madge is survived by her children, Malcolm (Marion) Wilkinson, Ramsgate Kent, England; Maureen (Robert) Rasmussen, Magrath AB, Canada; Valerie (Gerald) Ackerman, Bancroft, ID; Arlene (Richard) Hogan, Riverton, UT; Richard (Eleanor) Zoellner, Taylorsville, UT; Barbara (Frank) Brwes, Concho, AZ; Walter (Jolene) Zoellner, Salt Lake City, UT; a son-in-law, James Willmore, St. Anthony, ID; Darlene (Keith) Clegg, Soda Springs, ID; Lynn (Clare) Bailey, Salt Lake City, UT., and Kay (Diane) Bailey, Bancroft, ID.
Madge loved all of her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouses, siblings and one step-daughter, Carol Ann Willmore.

Funeral services were conducted on Monday, March 23rd at Noon at the Bancroft LDS Chapel with Bishop Ken Christensen officiating. Burial was in the Bancroft Cemetery.
