Marcia Yvonne Harwood Porter, 57, of Thatcher, ID, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008 the result of an auto accident.
She was born November 29, 1950 at Moorehead, MN. the daughter of Richard Wesley and Agnes Joann Beals Harwood. She was raised and educated in Rochester, MN coming to Idaho in 1980.
Marcia married Douglas L. Porter, June 13, 1980 in the Logan LDS Temple.
She was a member of the Thatcher LDS Ward and had served in various positions.
Marcia was a CNA II for the Caribou Memorial Living Center. She also had been pool manager, life guard and swimming instructor at the Riverdale Resort for 15 years.
She had a deep love for the residence of the living center.
She had sung with the Country Charm Singing Group for several years. She was an avid swimmer, enjoyed crafts, bowling, singing and music.
Marcia is survived by her husband Doug Porter, Thatcher, ID, 2 sons and 2 daughters and their spouses; Russell and Lynn Koehler, Rochester, MN; Richard D and Heather Porter, Thatcher, ID; Christie and Randall Johnson and Windy K and Dan Clark all of Pocatello, ID. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, her mother Joann Harwood of North Liberty, Iowa and a sister, Sandy and Dr. Thom Williams, Unionville, MO.
She was preceded in death by her Father, grand-parents and an Aunt.
Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, October 4th at Noon at the Thatcher-Williams LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Steve Smith officiating.
The Family suggests donations to the Ladies Auxiliary for the residences of the Caribou Memorial Living Center.
