Marjorie Ellen Panting Beins, 87, of Soda Springs, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at home. She was born May 22, 1921 at Soda Springs, the daughter of Christopher Ben and Grace Ellen Giles Panting.
She married Stuart Addison Beins, November 1, 1941 in Soda Springs; their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Stuart passed away in June of 1998.
Marjorie was raised and educated in Soda Springs; she also graduated from LDS Business College, and was a Dale Carnegie Graduate.
She had lived in California a short time while Stuart was in the Army.
She had been bookkeeper and secretary for Beins Oil and supply for 35 years.
Marjorie was a member of the Soda Springs LDS 3rd Ward and served as a visiting teacher, and a teacher.
She had been a member of the Soda Springs Chamber of Commerce and a 4-H leader.
She was a member of the Western Petroleum Marketing, Conoco and Amoco Co-op.
She enjoyed gardening, bookkeeping, travel and her family.
Marjorie is survived by 1 son and 1 daughter and their spouses; Stuart Duane and Diane Beins, Soda Springs; and Susan Kay and Peter Fillmore, Chevy Case, Maryland; Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Don and Dale Panting.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Soda Springs LDS Stake Center with Bishop Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.
