Obituary

Marlon George Jenkins, 58, of Bancroft, Idaho passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello. Marlon was born on September 7, 1954 in Soda Springs, Idaho the son of Jay Dell and Doris Jean McNely Jenkins. He lived in Bancroft all of his life. He graduated from North Gem High School and participated in basketball, football, track and FFA. Marlon married Valerie Waller on November 20, 1976 in Niter, Idaho. They were later divorced. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Marlon worked at Crop Production Services also Wilson Farms and Western Farm for 38 years. He loved his job but wouldn't ever admit it. In earlier years he enjoyed racing snowmobiles, hunting and bull riding. He enjoyed every Sunday spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loved his grandbabies more than anything. Guess he won't be winning the Super Bowl pool this year. That's ok because Peyton Manning and the Broncos aren't going. He is survived by one son, Joe and Tiffany Jenkins of Soda Springs, ID, and two daughters, Lacy and Matt Whiting of Bancroft, ID, Hailey and Joe Perry of Bancroft, ID. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 on the way, his mother, Doris Jean McClain "Grammy", his father Jay Dell Jenkins, a brother Mike Jenkins, and two sisters, Trish Hulse and Cathy Baker. He was preceded in death by one brother Dorian Jenkins stepfather, Hyrum McClain and his grandparents. Services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Noon at the Bancroft LDS Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs and on Friday morning from 10:30 am. to 11:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be at the Bancroft Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Staff, Dr's and Nurses for their excellent care and kindness. Also to all in Bancroft, we are not just a town, school, neighbors we are a family and thank you for everything. Listen to services:
