Martha Mary Mayne Reese, age 91, died on Feb. 15, 2022 peacefully in her sleep in Soda

Springs, Idaho.

Martha was born on January 14, 2931, in Plano, Idaho to Jesse and Mary

Mayne and was one of nine children; she had 3 brothers- Harry, Blain, Perry, a half brother-

Mike, three sisters- Jacqueline, Elizabeth, Lily and a half sister- Edith. All but one sister

(Jacqueline) and a sister-in law (Lucille Mayne) proceed her in death. Also, proceeding her in

death is her husband Erastus Leo, two daughters Mary Reese and Judy Reese Cheramie and

son-in-law Roger Cheramie. Those surviving Martha are her son Erastus Leo Reese Jr.,

grandsons Matthew Cheramie (married to QuitaLyn Love-Cheramie) and Payson Reese and her

5 great-grandchildren Gabriel, Christian, Liam, Asher and Harper Cheramie.

Martha grew up in the St. Anthony/Rexburg area, which is where she was living when she met

Erastus (Leo). They moved to Hennery, Idaho and later Soda Springs after their marriage, which

is where they lived the rest of their lives. Martha worked at the Caribou Memorial Hospital in

laundry services, where she remained until she retired and was a member of the Caribou

Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. As a member of a religious community in Soda Springs, Martha

was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the 7th ward where she was

a beloved member of the congregation.

Martha loved owning and riding the horses she and Leo owned on the ranch they owned for

many years in Soda Springs and also loved her dogs. She was an avid reader. She was also

extremely creative and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and making award winning clothing

for the dolls she also made. She will be missed by many.

Services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Noon at the Soda Springs Bailey Creek Chapel.  Family will visit with friends on Friday morning form 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Church  prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.
