Mary Louise Rowe, 85, passed away on June 6, 2019 in Cheney, Washington.
Mary grew up in southern Idaho, where she graduated high school and met her first husband, Ronald Smith. She and Ronald had a daughter together, Mary Kathleen Smith, and they moved to southern California to seek employment there. They lived in California for several years but later got divorced. Mary continued to live and work in southern California, where she met her second husband, William Rowe. They had a daughter together, Jennefer Lynn Rowe, and moved to Washington state not long after Jennefer was born.
Mary lived in Battle Ground, Washington for many years with William and Jennefer. She became very interested in art and started taking art classes. Mary became a prolific artist and enjoyed painting tremendously. She painted large paintings, mostly of landscapes and flowers. She was very involved in the art community and she also enjoyed photography. She loved nature and she would use her photographs of nature as inspiration for her paintings. Mary also loved gardening, reading, and classical music.
Mary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed attending her church meetings and was a deeply religious person. She loved singing at church and she also played the piano and organ at church for many years. Mary was a kind and helpful person and always tried to follow Christ's example. She loved her family deeply and always tried to help them in any way she could. Mary was an outgoing person and had many friends. She loved life and was beloved by her family and friends.
After many years of marriage, Mary and William divorced. She moved to southern California with her daughter Jennefer. She lived close by her other daughter Kathy, who had four children. Mary worked full time and she lived in Wildomar, California for many years. When she retired, she lived in a few places, including Montpelier, Idaho and Spokane, Washington. Towards the end of her life, Mary had dementia and lived in a nursing facility in Cheney, Washington.
Mary will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her brother, Dennis Turner, her daughters Mary Ruiz and Jennefer Thompson, and her four grandchildren, Sabrina Campbell, Allan Cassidy Green, Tracey Gidney, and Kelly Green. She was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Turner, her mother Reba Black, and her brother, Myron Turner.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Grace Idaho Cemetery.
