IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Marguerite
Sorensen
January 4, 1944 – June 7, 2021
MARY MARGUERITE ROBERTS SORENSEN
Mary passed away on June 7, 2021 at her home with her husband, Rodger at her side.
She was born on Jan 4, 1944 in Sioux City, Iowa to Homer and Mable Roberts.
While attending BYU, she met and later married Rodger Sorensen in the Logan, Utah Temple. His employment took them to the Seattle, Washington area where Mary graduated from the University of Washington.
About ten years later, the family moved to Soda Springs, Idaho where Rodger began commuting to work and Mary volunteered for service in the local Church and Civic organizations while training their five children in the fine arts of Music and English style riding. Horses and riding equipment were a favorite subject of conversation (Mary served as an Intermountain Regional Supervisor for the United States Pony Club), and she put a good many miles on truck and horse trailer attending horseshows.
When the children became university graduates, were married, and began raising their own children, Mary became a typical grandmother spending oodles of time and effort making certain her grandchildren were given the opportunities to develop their skills and abilities.
She will be sorely missed, but not forgotten by all whose lives she has touched.
She is survived by her husband, Rodger and four children: Katrina & Larry Wood, Latrica & Craig Curtis, Traci & Neil Harward, and Trent & Nicole Sorensen.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Children's Section of THE FRIENDS OF SODA SPRINGS LIBRARY.
If there are memories of Mary you may wish to share, the children would be most appreciative. Please e-mail to equinegirl77@hotmail.com
