Matthew James Mellish, 47 years old, of Soda Springs, Idaho, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

He was born February 1978 in Walla Walla, Washington. He started his own long haul trucking business, M & M Livestock Transport. Matthew was a gentle, generous soul with a lighthearted sense of humor and an easy laugh. He loved animals and took great pride in providing the best care for the livestock under his stewardship. He also loved his dogs, cats and chickens.

Matthew is survived by his mother, Michele Contant, father, James Mellish, sister, Heather Harmon (and family), and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, several uncles, cousins and Scout, his loyal companion.

An interment service for Matthew James Mellish will be held at Spokane Memorial Gardens on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to cover the costs of cremation and interment.
