Obituary

Merrill Hall Lloyd, 81, of Grace, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs.
He was a dearly loved dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. His grandchildren were the light of his life.
He was born June 10, 1926 at Central, Idaho the son of Henry Haslem and Maud Gunnell Hall Lloyd. He was raised and educated in the Grace area, graduating from Grace High School in 1944. He had also lived in Wellsville, Utah for 8 years. He attended Utah State University for one year.
Merrill married the love of his life, Diane Stoddard August 7, 1954 in Grace. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
He served in the U S Army during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952.
Merrill was a rancher and farmer until his health would no longer permit, but he still tried to care for and check on his horses. He had a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and many friends.
He was a member of the Caribou County Posse; he served on the Grace City Council from 1981 to 1994 and a member of the Grace Lions Club and the American Legion.
Merrill enjoyed ranching, spending time with his children and grandchildren and visiting with his friends. He enjoyed Jazz games, watching basketball, football, baseball and rodeos.
Merrill is survived by his wife Diane Lloyd of Grace, 1 son and 1 daughter; Brett S Lloyd and Patti and Steve Findley, all of Pocatello, ID. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren: Danielle and Ron Hansen, Heather and Justin Howe, Ashlee and Joe Fitzen, Jenny and Dave Webb, Megan Findley, Kelly and Patricia Lloyd, Wade and Nicole Lloyd and Melissa Lloyd also 19 great-grandchildren 3 brothers, a brother-in-law and 2 sisters; Ray H and Barbara Lloyd, Grace, ID; Thomas H and Mary Ann Lloyd, Logan, UT; Grant H and Marco Lloyd, Wayan, ID; Dee Andreasen, Cleveland, ID, Donna and Frank Stoddard and Ann Randall of Grace, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Etheleen Andreasen and Berneice Hogan.

Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, May 15th at Noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center. Burial was in the Grace Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion.
