Mitchell Barnett, (aka Mitchy as the brothers affectiantly called him) the youngest of five brothers and a kind-hearted soul who touched everyone he met, passed away on July 8, 2026, in the Houston, Texas area at the age of 32.

Born on June 22, 1994, in Pocatello, Idaho, Mitchell grew up in Gooding, Idaho, and Gillette, Wyoming. He built a successful career as a skilled electrician, working in the coal mines in Gillette and later moving to Houston, Texas, where he helped build electric haul trucks.

Mitchell cherished spending time with family, enjoyed gaming, and loved traveling to new places. He had a soft heart and gentle spirit that made him the beloved “baby” of the family. He now rests peacefully with his mother, Kristina Lynn Boyd.

He is survived by his father, Scott Boyd; his fiancé Kady Lynn Cosgriff. Kady and Mitchell were the perfect couple sharing personalities and behaviors that complimented each other like only true love could and other couples dreamed of having, If you met them, you would of envied them to be so young and find that kind of love. His brothers Tyler Barnett, Brad Preston and wife Kandi, Chad Preston and wife Megan, and Ryan Preston and wife Jerika; his 7 nieces and nephews; his 5 great-nieces and great-nephews; along with many other loving family members and friends. Mitchell was deeply loved by all who knew him.
