Obituary

On October 28, 2016, our hero, Mitchell Tad Jensen ended his earthly journey at his home in Bancroft Idaho, after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma, a very aggressive type of brain tumor. He was born October 3, 1956 in Malad, Idaho to Lynn B Jensen and Margaret Mitchell Jensen. He attended school in Aberdeen graduating in the class of 1974. On August 26, 1977, he married Tamrya Butterfield in Bancroft, Idaho, where they have since resided. Together they had 3 children. Trenton Lynn, Tysie May and Tayler M. Tad worked in the mining industry for 30+ years. Most recently working for Kiewit Mining Group. He had a love of the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. His most recent, passion was taking trips on his Harley Davidson with Tam. They enjoyed many miles and beautiful scenery together. Tad was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Tad was well known and loved by many for his sense of humor and quick wit. If you ever got to spend time with him, you were able to share a lot laughter and stories. His family will always carry out his sense of humor and love of life. Tad is survived by his wife Tamrya Jensen of Bancroft, son Trent (Jeni) Jensen of Bancroft, daughter Tysie Jensen of Pocatello and son Tayler (Brittany) Jensen of Soda Springs. He also has a great love of his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bridger, Brayden, Austin, Teagan, Kymberli, Maggie, Beau and Cole. He is also survived by his Step-father, Eugene "Corky" Nichols of Aberdeen, step-sisters Dixie Montgomery of Blackfoot, Terry Walker of Oklahoma and step-brother Cass Nichols of Las Vegas, and his closest cousins Ted (Molly) Barnes of Bancroft and Bob (Cheryl) Barnes of Idaho Falls and many Jensen cousins. He is also survived by the loving and incredibly caring staff of Encompass hospice, Brandi W., Brandi B., Miranda, Kebra, Dave, and Shanna. The family would also like to thank the amazing staff at Portneuf Cancer Center and the ICU nursing staff at Portneuf Medical Center. Tad was preceded in death by his father Lynn Jensen, mother Maggie Nichols, infant brother Roger and infant sister Connie Lynn, mother and father-in-law Ferrebee and Virginia Butterfield, step-sister Peggy Nichols. Services for Tad will be Friday November 4, 2016 at noon at the Bancroft Idaho LDS Chapel. Family will meet with friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs, and on Friday from 10-11:30 prior to services. Burial will be in the Bancroft cemetery.
