Obituary

Long time Caribou County resident Norma (Toots) Ann Swain Walker passed from this life and returned to her Father in Heaven April 7, 2021, in Pocatello, Idaho at the Monte Vista Hills nursing home.

Norma was born July 16, 1939, in Soda Springs, Idaho to Paul and June Swain of Grays Lake, Idaho. She was the middle child preceded by Larry and followed by Roger.

She married Joe S Olorenshaw on April 21 , 1956 and together they had two children, Wade and Stacy. Some time after that marriage ended she married Leonard Walker (deceased).

Norma worked in mining, security, health care and social work. However, her longtime service was to the U.S. Mail. She carried mail for over 24 years from Soda Springs to her childhood home base of Grays Lake.

Norma grew up on the family ranch with her brothers in Grays Lake, Idaho. She attended elementary school in Grays Lake. Then the family moved to Soda Springs when Larry started High School.

Norma is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She enjoyed raising beautiful roses in her backyard where many a fun cook outs were held. Collecting Stamps and Historical Memorabilia, Bowling Leagues (175 Club), Fly fishing, Traveling, Painting and being with family and friends over the many years were her favorite loves of life.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and June Swain, her brothers Roger (Colleen) and Larry (Marilyn) , Sister-in-law Marilyn, a Nephew Cory Swain and Grandson Adam Carpenter. She is survived by her son and daughter, Wade Olorenshaw (Anne) of Bancroft, Idaho, Stacy Carpenter (Bryce) of Soda Springs, Idaho, Granddaughter Elizabeth Olorenshaw of Idaho Falls, Grandson Elliot Olorenshaw (Mollie), Great-grandchildren Grant and Paige of Pleasant Grove, UT, Grandson Cory Carpenter (Briana), Great-grandchildren Jayden, VikeLand and Styrke, Grandson Paul Carpenter (Jessica), Great-grandchildren Jirzey, Titus and Brekken all of Soda Springs, Idaho, a Sister-in Law Colleen Swain, Nephews Kevin and Carter Swain, and a Niece Alyson Cunningham.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at the Fairview Cemetery, in Soda Springs, Idaho, Tuesday April 13, 2021, at 12:00 Noon.
