He spent his younger years raised in Soda Springs, and then moved to Challis, Idaho where he worked with his father running a large sheep ranch. As an active member of the Soda Springs LDS Fifth Ward, Orval gave countless hours of service to his fellow neighbors and friends. He was always the first to offer help and never expected payment. He was truly a good Samaritan – always helping those in need. Over the last decade, Orval devoted much time and energy to genealogy work.
