Orval "Mike" Michaelson returned to his loving Heavenly Father on August 23, 2016.

He was born September 2, 1931, the youngest of eight children born to John Michaelson and Nora Peterson.

He married his sweetheart, Beverly Stock on May 23, 1952 and they were blessed with four children. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on their 10th anniversary.

Mike was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings, including bishop and executive secretary in several stake presidencies.

He worked at Monsanto for nearly 40 years before retiring.

Mike was preceded in death by his daughter Tami Jo, his parents and 6 siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Bev, of Soda Springs; his children, Annette Athay of Paris, ID, Roger (Sherril) Michaelson of Commerce City, CO, David (Dawn) Michaelson of Queen Creek, AZ, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and his sister, Jennie Spidell of Montpelier, ID.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Hooper LDS Chapel in Soda Springs. Family will visit with friends on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Sims Funeral Home and also on Saturday morning from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at the Church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs with Military Honors.
