Obituary

Parlene Davis passed away at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, in Idaho Falls, Idaho June 9,2018 after an extended battle with several health issues.

Parlene was born March 30, 1948 to William Grant Davis and Delia A. Davis. She was the first of two children.

Parlene loved to serve. She was active in The Latter-day Saints Church and served in several callings. She was an avid genealogist and served a mission for the church in the Family History Department. Parlene was involved in several community organizations, such as the Daughter of Utah Pioneers, Caribou Historical Society and was a strong supporter of the Soda Springs Public Library. She was also a member and past president of The Delta Kappa Gamma.

Parlene started teaching school in the fall of 1970. She taught for 36 years at Hooper Elementary and for 6 years at Thirkill Elementary, Both in Soda Springs. She had many accomplishments throughout her career. One of the highlights of her career was an all school program that she wrote and directed entitled "A Tribute To Walt Disney". She loved the children that she taught and gained lifelong friendships with many of the faculty she taught with. Two of her favorite memories of teaching were seeing the excitement of the students the first day of school and watching former students advance and become productive men and women in society.

Parlene was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her brother William Crary Davis and her Sister-in-law Carol Davis, two nieces and one nephew, 13 great nieces/nephews.

Funeral Services were held at the Soda Springs Hooper LDS Church with Bishop Jeff Godfrey conducting. Funeral services were under the direction of Sims Funeral Home. Burial was In the Soda Springs Fairview Cemetery.

Crary and Carol would like to thank the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center Doctors and nursing staff for their care and compassion for Parlene at the time of her demise. They would also like to thank the good people of Soda Springs and Morning Star Retirement Center in Idaho Falls for their prayers and acts of kindness at this difficult time.
