Obituary

Pauline Fraser Egbert was born on December 31, 1926, in Grace, Idaho (out in Bench area) She was the first of four children born to Glen and Arvilla Fraser of Grace, Idaho.

Pauline grew up on the family farm just inside the town of Grace. She spent a lot of time playing with her sister Carol, who was only a year behind her. When she was young she went down by the canal with her friend, and they somehow killed a magpie and cooked over a fire. But they didn't dare eat it!!

As a child she went to Grace Elementary, then on to Jr. High and High School. When she was in the first grade in Elementary School, she was skipped to the grade ahead because she was the only one in that grade. She said she had to struggle learning to catch up to the older ones. We teased her about being so smart that they sent her a grade ahead!

Pauline started dating Wayne when she was 14 yrs. old, because she told him she was 16 yrs. old!!! They went to many dances because he played in the Orchestra.

Wayne came home after serving in the war for three years, but she waited the whole time wearing the engagement ring he sent her. They were married on July 23, 1945, in the Logan Utah LDS Temple.

Wayne and Pauline became the parents of six children, three girls and three boys!! As he worked hard to support his family, she stayed home raising children, and being a homemaker.

The only job Pauline ever worked at was in Chadwick's in Grace. But she worked hard helping Wayne with his milk testing job, and helping all her children with their achievements. She did sewing and even custom sewing for other people.

Mom was such a great support for us and for Dad. She sacrificed so much to make sure we kids were taken care of, and as each of us got married, she was a great support for us, and son-in-laws always loved her so much.

As she got older and could finally have time for herself, she did a lot of crossword puzzles and was very good at it. She enjoyed reading as well. Sometimes she and her sisters and mother would get together, drink Tab, and talk and laugh!

Pauline and Wayne celebrated their 50th anniversary in the summer of 1995, and we all came and had a fun Open House. It was only 4 months later that Wayne suddenly passed away. She was content living at home alone for years of her life because she had so many children and grandchildren who loved to visit her. She loved yard work also she really enjoyed that.

Unfortunately, she lived the last eight years of her life, in Ogden, Utah, Soda Springs, and Preston care homes. She had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

Pauline is survived by her children, Carol Lee Nelson, Jenann (Dwayne) Hansen, Brad (Bobbie Ann), Leland (Linda), Kerry (Kaleigh), grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and also 2 sisters, Janice Motta and Carol Turner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, daughter, Kim Arnold, and brother, Bud Fraser.

Pauline was beloved by all her caregivers. No matter how bad her condition got, she was always pleasant and everyone loved her.

Pauline is with Wayne now and we know she is happy and so glad to be able to see and know him and remember so many things.
