Ralph Lynn Brown, a lifelong resident of Soda Springs and most recently of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away, surrounded by family, on July 8th, 2019 in Twin Falls, at the age of 90.

Ralph was born on March 29th, 1929 in Davisville, Idaho to Melverton Cook Brown and Inez Ovanda Balls.

He spent his childhood in Davisville, along with his siblings, Ruth, LaMar, Clarke and Sheryl, as well as his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He attended grade school in Alexander and in Montpelier, Idaho.

Ralph graduated from Soda Springs High School, where he was the center on the basketball team and played football and baseball. He later attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah for two years.

It was during high school that he met the love of his life, Della Watkins.

On May 16th, 1950, Ralph and Della were married for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They had 4 children, a son Gerald, and three daughters, Janet, Renee and Melanie. Together they built a beautiful life.

Ralph worked for Monsanto's Soda Springs elemental phosphorus plant for nearly forty years in various departments and positions, before retiring as the Safety Supervisor in 1991.

He owned and operated a dry farm and took pride in raising good crops of wheat and barley. He was a hard worker and passionate about farming, he also loved hunting, fishing, traveling and camping.

He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served as the first Bishop of the Soda Springs 5th ward from 1975-79, as well as many other callings throughout his life.

The thing that brought him the most joy was his family, which consists of his children and their spouses whom he treated as his own, his grandchildren and their spouses, and his great-grandchildren. He was a kind and generous man, and we will miss him dearly.
